Save a billion bees, and us with it, with the Alsatian start-up NOEHMI

Discover the NOEHMI website.

Let’s talk about insects today, but not about bugs. The decline of pollinators could lead to the loss of 75% of the world’s crops. And when we know that the mortality rate of bees oscillates between 25 and 30% in France alone, we understand that young researchers from INSA in Strasbourg have looked into the problem. They created the Tech4Gaia project, today the company is called Noehmi, which stands for Network Observatory Environment Hive Monitoring Intelligence. It is a connected device that equips hives.

It provides environmental monitoring of all pollinators. The beekeeper benefits from strategic data for his activity, Information such as weight, humidity, temperature, the presence of gas within the hive but also meteorological data are collected and transmitted to the beekeeper via an application mobile. And since all the data from the different areas goes up at the same time and is shared, it makes it possible to alert professionals to any major problems. For the moment, only a few beekeepers are participating in this project. Professional, individual, institution, click on the noehmi dot com site to see what this device can bring you.
