Aperitif lovers now have their new haunt on the South Shore. At Saucette, we sit down for a happy hour and enjoy small seasonal dishes, glass in hand. You can also buy a good bottle of wine and some nibbles for a homemade aperitif.
The space, beautifully designed by Séjour Studio, includes a large central island that welcomes guests. Whether accompanied or not, the friendly atmosphere of the neighborhood refreshment bar invites exchanges and discussions.
Owners Catherine Denault and Marie-Ève Collin wanted to create a unifying and fun space. “Catherine and I will always be there. We want to welcome people as we would welcome them at home,” exclaims Marie-Ève Collin, who runs the kitchen after having accumulated several years of experience in catering.

It was first and foremost the love of wine – and well-made wine – that united the owners. It was therefore obvious for them to offer a wide variety of bottles and introduce them to people. Natural, organic wines, without inputs, designed by small producers from here and elsewhere, their vast selection of bottles covers a large section of the wall of the refreshment bar.
“We want to be the destination for people from the South Shore, and even from Montreal, to look for their bottles of wine and get advice and recommendations,” explains Catherine Denault, who took the plunge as a wine merchant after a career in the world. communications.
Although the aperitif is often synonymous with the evening, we are invited to come earlier if we feel like it, since the place is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday to Saturday. Snack foods are offered from the opening and the menu becomes more complex in the afternoon. “We serve super simple dishes,” explains Marie-Ève Collin. I no longer have this need to reinvent the wheel in cooking, I want to make good, fresh and fun little things to accompany wine. »

Roasted vegetables with labneh and spicy crunchy oil, kimchi and sweet potato fritters with scallion and cilantro mayonnaise or arancini with aged cheddar are just some of the dishes on the menu. You can also dig into traditional cheese or charcuterie boards or appetizers, such as warm olives, lemon and herbs.
The refreshment bar has a boutique area ideal for shopping before a night out. Wines, beers (La Ferme), non-alcoholic drinks (ready-to-drink Fin soda, Bedford sparkling water), cold meats, cheeses and bread (Pain dans les voiles) adorn the shelves. Winegrowers’ evenings and workshops will also be organized once a month, we slip. Saucette therefore has everything to become the new darling of wine lovers, or simply good food.
