(Montreal) Two men aged in their twenties were injured by projectiles from a firearm when a shooting took place in the middle of the night, Monday, in the borough of Saint-Léonard, in the northeast of Montreal.
Medical authorities reported to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) that the 28-year-old victim was believed to be alive. At the end of the night, however, it remained impossible to determine the state of health of the other victim, a 24-year-old man.
Little information had been collected at the start of the police investigation. Witnesses, however, told police that the two men were on Bélanger Street East near the intersection of Valdombre Street when shots were fired in their direction from a moving vehicle around 2 a.m. 10.
The vehicle had already left the scene when the police arrived. It is a residential and commercial sector.
The crime scene was secured and investigators were at work late into the night in an effort to solve the case.
