Review of the album “SORCS 80”, Osees

Osees clearly hasn’t finished surprising us. With its umpteenth opus — the group that was previously called Thee Oh Sees has already produced around thirty albums, so we obviously stopped counting at some point —, SORCS 80one might think that inspiration and originality are starting to run out of steam… but not at all. John Dwyer and his acolytes demonstrate once again their ability to renew themselves while retaining the frenetic energy that characterizes them. SORCS 80 is thus a real explosion of psychedelic rock, garage, punk, experimental, sometimes kraut-like. The album reaches its peak with Also the Gorilla…a track that literally makes the listening take off, propelling the listener into an electrifying sonic whirlwind. This track in particular embodies the quintessence of the Osees style: impeccably orchestrated chaos and overexcited ardor. And what about the delicious Silver Pig ? BRILLIANT. We can only advise you to rush to discover it.
