Stade Brestois, a real surprise of the season in Ligue 1, believes in it. Already assured of playing in a European Cup next season, the club is experiencing an incredible adventure since it could reach the Champions League. For this, it must win or do better than OGC Nice, which plays Friday evening May 10 against Le Havre, while Brest hosts Reims at the same time. An evening full of challenges for the supporters, met at “Pénalty”, the bar located at the foot of the Francis le Blé stadium, a Brest institution.
Corinne Le Madec, the manager, almost doesn’t believe it. “I don’t realize it yet. It’s magical, Brest is magical. Before, it was Paris, now, it’s Brest”, she jokes.
In front of the bar, a pint of beer in hand, Kévin and David relive the Stade Brestois season and dream big. “Given the initial objective, which was just to maintain ourselves and to say that ultimately, the Champions League is possibleit could have seemed like a joke at the start of the season”, recognizes Kevin. David already imagines himself facing Real Madrid, Manchester City“all the big ones, the ones we watch on Tuesday and Wednesday on TV”, and even, to have “Kylian Mbappé at the Francis Le Blé stadium.
“We will follow them to the end.”

Whatever the European Cup, the Brestois hope to be able to play it in their stadium, even if for the moment, UEFA has refused their request for an exemption. In any case, Corinne, the bar manager, is impatiently waiting for it. “It would be a great plus, I must admit. It will be long and hard days, but it will be nice,” even if Corinne wants to reassure the supporters“it will be retransmitted to Penalty anyway”.
