Ukrainian television closely followed a unit of paratroopers on the front line. An exclusive report for franceinfo.
The soldiers move towards the front line, they have just received the enemy position. Everything goes very quickly, it only takes a few seconds for these paratroopers to fire the first projectiles in the direction of the opposing positions. From the air, a drone operator transmits GPS coordinates to them. They use a British cannon, from England, widely used by the Ukrainian army. “At the same time, they have to be extremely careful that the Russians don’t retaliate,” explains the Ukrainian journalist.
“If a projectile hits us…”
Suddenly, an alert. The enemy retaliates, you have to run for cover. The Russians fire rockets from several positions, “We were asked to stay hidden”, explains the journalist, out of breath. Being underground is the most effective way to protect yourself. “Is this going to hold?” she asks the soldiers. “If a projectile hits us directly, no,” one of them replies coldly.
