The duel was expected between Max Verstappen’s Red Bull and Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari. On arrival, Monegasque crossed the line as the winner ahead of his rival on the Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg, for the 11th round of the world championship, Sunday July 10. Third place went to Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), ahead of his teammate George Russell. Frenchman Esteban Ocon (Alpine) finished fifth, while Carlos Sainz was forced to retire with his Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc thus won the third victory of his season, and resumed his march forward, he who had not won for seven races. He slightly narrows the gap that separates him from the Dutchman, who is still largely the leader in the drivers’ world championship.
