A space of discovery
Since it was created, the Blue Basket has been a mandatory step in my research process. Two or three times I found things there at better prices than on Amazon, which were delivered in the same way and within the same timeframe. I also discovered traders there in my immediate environment that I would have found more difficult otherwise. The fact remains that the very idea of the Blue Basket is to research locally first. In my case, I’m not sure that turning the site into transactional would increase my usage. It would be interesting to have an index showing the portion of each dollar spent that remains in Quebec. […] I’m happy that this site exists, but I want it to stand out from other platforms by making Quebecers even more informed consumers.

A discouraging shopping tour
I consulted the site several times, I found the idea exciting since I favor local purchases. But to have to lug around from Bernard Avenue to Wellington Street via Saint-Laurent with a detour via Fleury, not to mention Vieux and Beaubien, by bus and metro from the far east of the island, too much for me. I surely would have used the site if it had been transactional. Habits are created quickly and I have done almost all of my Christmas shopping on the internet with satisfaction.

No need to reinvent the wheel
An agreement negotiated by the government with Shopify would make it possible to offer a transactional site to Quebec retailers. It would be the ideal platform. Why reinvent the wheel?

Only one sale with the Blue Basket
I don’t wait until the Blue Basket to get my sales moving. Instead of putting so much money into this public market, as he calls it, the money should have been funneled to traders to help in various forms. The merchant must use originality in his efforts to make himself known. You have to vary your ads and be imaginative. According to my calculations, the Blue Basket only gave me one sale. The customer ordered and returned the garment. I advocate customer loyalty and referencing by them. […] I am proud to be established in Notre-Dame Street, in Lachine, with my company CoriBouTik. We are more than a physical store, we have an online store and we take care of industrial customers around Lachine.

Why do duplicate
At the start of the Blue Basket, I had put on some jewelry. This requires managing inventory in two places. Our site does the job very well, I advertise Google AdWords and regularly post ads on Facebook.

For a Quebec Amazon
I receive a lot of emails from this platform, but as long as it is not transactional, I will not use it to make purchases. I can also type the keyword on Google for a Quebec product, the result will be the same. I would like to make all my purchases via the same platform to avoid the delivery costs specific to each retailer. Amazon’s formula is a resounding international success: Quebecers are smart enough to equip themselves with the same kind of system!

We miss the target
Le Panier Bleu was created without a needs analysis. It has no use, which is why the government is always trying to modify it in order to give it usefulness and notoriety. It is a white elephant created from scratch. Aliments du Québec already has a good place in the trade and each one already has its transactional site which could take more. Despite the good intentions, this initiative does not reach its target.

A mess
It is impossible to do a precise search on the Panier Bleu site. […] For my part, I will not give up my own website. I don’t trust the organization that manages this site.

Disappointed with the platform
Just yesterday, I visited the Panier Bleu site to find corporate gifts made in Quebec. I was very disappointed that the platform was still not transactional. I had the instinct to visit the site, which means that its existence is well known… but I had to look elsewhere to buy.

Let’s close this mess
I feel like I’m in a church basement flea market… In terms of quality of presentation and shopping experience, the Blue Basket does poorly compared to Simons, to name a few. than this one, which has a functional platform, excellent presentation and efficient inventory management. A bad idea patched up during the pandemic. There is still time to close this mess.
