The Grossglockner is the highest point in this country, with its 3798 m altitude. It’s a coveted goal for mountaineers, but the area itself lends itself perfectly to hiking. To get there, the Grossglockner road is a classic: it has 36 hairpin bends over 48 km.

The Swarovski Kristallwelten is a museum dedicated to crystal.

Daniel Swarovski founded the crystal factory of the same name in this country in 1895. The company still produces jewelry and crystal objects, but it has also diversified into the production of high-precision optical products, such as binoculars. A museum dedicated to crystal, the Swarovski Kristallwelten, is a great tourist attraction thanks to ambitious light effects.

The famous Schönbrunn Palace

Schönbrunn Palace has often been compared to Versailles. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this vast palace was the summer residence of the Habsburg imperial family. He thus welcomed Empress Elisabeth (Sissi), as well as Archduchess Marie-Louise and her son, the King of Rome. This one, nicknamed l’Aiglon, was the son of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Mozart’s Birthplace in Salzburg

Impossible to talk about this country without talking about Mozart. He was born in the city of Salzburg in 1756 and spent his childhood and adolescence there. You can visit his birthplace and attend, between mid-July and the end of August, one of the biggest festivals of classical music, opera and theater in the world.
