Quebec has 14 more deaths linked to COVID-19

Quebec reports Thursday 14 new deaths linked to COVID-19 as well as a drop in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1,562 hospitalizations, a decrease of 37 compared to Wednesday. Fifty-three people are in intensive care, up from five.

A total of 5,039 healthcare workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll stands at 15,326.

The Ministry of Health reports 626 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,060,045 since the start of the pandemic. The number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 209,649 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 171,771 positive. For Wednesday, 212 tests were reported, including 173 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 12,338 analyzes were carried out on Wednesday and that the positivity rate is 6.2%.

Regarding vaccination, 14,160 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% received a third dose and 13% received a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 40% received a fourth dose.
