The owner of a bar in Montreal North was strangled by her scarf for long minutes on Tuesday morning during an unfortunate work accident.
The tragedy occurred around 9:15 a.m. inside the Bar Le Petit Tonneau, located on Léger Boulevard, at the corner of Charland Avenue.
At the time of the accident, the 49-year-old victim was moving liquor bottles using a conveyor belt type conveyor. For a still unknown reason, his scarf would have got stuck in the device and the victim would have been strangled.
She would have been deprived of air for long minutes. Witnesses finally managed to cut her scarf to free her.

The bar had been open for barely an hour at the time of the incident.
Resuscitation maneuvers were then undertaken by paramedics dispatched to the scene.
The latter managed to resuscitate the victim, who was then taken care of by the doctors of the Sacré-Coeur Hospital.
“Such a good madam, so kind. It’s an incredible story. You come in to work one morning and just like that, it’s your last day. It’s really sad,” said a neighbor, who knows the victim well and was convinced that she had lost her life.
But in the middle of the afternoon, the state of the victim would have stabilized while she was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
Inspectors from the Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work were to go on site during the morning to try to establish the circumstances of this accident.
