As a great professional, Véronique Saviuc managed to finish her diary, while in the studio, one by one, we entered to pay homage to her and the emotion was palpable.
From freelancer to reporter
Because this January 28, 2022 marked the end of a long career as a journalist, devoted to radio. Véronique started as a freelancer in September 1987 in Grenoble, at Radio France Isère. At the time, that was the name of our radio station. We were then installed rue Etienne Forest, since December 1983.
Then, Véronique was hired at France Bleu Pays de Savoie, where she was stationed in Annecy, as RER, reporter in residence. This means that she had to report, alone, on the news in a large sector! She will then find the Chambéry editorial office in 1995, then will be transferred to Grenoble in 2007. It was therefore a homecoming for the one who had spent her youth in the capital of the Alps.
Professionalism and kindness
“Véro” as she is affectionately nicknamed at France Bleu Isère, was appreciated by everyone and, in respect of barrier gestures, we wanted to pay tribute to her today on the air. She finished her last diary to applause and our editor-in-chief made a small speech to praise his professionalism and his great benevolence, in all circumstances and towards everyone.
“Thank you, it warms my heart” released Véronique who wants remember the good times, like those memorable giggles live that are hard to remember or even the 30th anniversary of France Bleu Isère, celebrated at the top of Mont Aiguille, where a mini radio studio had been set up. Of course, she remembers the dramas she had to cover during her long career as a great reporter, such as the Mont-Blanc Tunnel fire in 1999 or the OTS trial in 2001.
“I also remember the fire at our radio station in January 2019. But I had the pleasure, before leaving this job, of being able to return to our premises on avenue Félix Viallet and enjoy it for a few weeks. !” says Véronique, with a big smile.
Ski touring and climbing
We wish her to make the most of her retirement to explore the mountains she loves so much, on ski touring or climbing. But, for sure, she will be greatly missed!
