(Calgary) Cody Eakin, a veteran with more than 700 NHL career games, got a pro tryout with the Calgary Flames.

The Canadian team made the announcement on Sunday. Eakin, a forward, could land a contract with the Flames if he impresses during the team’s training camp.
With the Buffalo Sabers during the 2021-2022 season, Eakin had four goals and eight assists in 69 games.
Besides his time with the Sabers, Eakin has played for the Winnipeg Jets, Vegas Golden Knights, Dallas Stars and Washington Capitals.
In 701 NHL games, the 31-year-old Canadian has amassed 256 points (110 goals and 146 assists).
