(Charlotte) The Carolina Panthers signed Zane Gonzalez to a two-year contract, who helped solidify the team’s position as a precision kicker last season.

Gonzalez was likely to become an unrestricted free agent next week.
Gonzalez joined the Panthers in Week 2 and made 20 of 22 field goal attempts, including 17 consecutively. However, a quadriceps injury during the warm-up before a game against the Buffalo Bills ended his season.
His 90.9% success rate on field goal attempts ranked him ninth in the NFL. He was also successful on 22 of his 23 conversion attempts.
