news for children

Philosophizing about happiness, surviving children in the Amazon rainforest and advice against bullying: this is the menu of the new episode of “Salut l’info!”

“Hi info, this is the info you need!” This is the slogan of this podcast produced by franceinfo radio and Astrapi magazine: every week, “Salut l’info!” tells the news to children aged 7 to 11, giving them a voice. At the microphone this week to co-present the episode: Abigaelle, 8 years old, herself presenter of a podcast on books!

The first piece of information takes us to Colombia, where four children survived alone for 40 days in the Amazon rainforest after their plane crashed. How did they survive? Abigail asks herself. The presenter Estelle returns to this “incredible” story.

Philosophizing about happiness with children

In Ireland, volunteer parents and school principals have taken an original decision: no laptops before entering college! “That’s a good idea”comments Abigaelle.

The news is also the baccalaureate in philosophy which took place on Wednesday June 14. One of the topics was about happiness. Because there really isn’t an age for philosophy, “Hello news!” decided to talk about the subject with children and a specialist in this discipline, Géraldine Mosna-Savoye.

No harassment at school or elsewhere!

In our section “We tell each other everything”, the children take the microphone and speak… to talk about their problems. This week, Margaux confides in behaviors that hurt her in her school. With the help of a psychologist, “Salut l’info!” gives him advice. It is also an opportunity to talk about the fight against bullying: witness or victim of bullying, it is important to talk about it to a trusted adult because no child should be harassed at school, on social networks or elsewhere. There is also a free phone number to talk to adult specialists on the subject, 3020.

Finally, we listen to the jokes of our young listeners, before hearing Abigaelle tell us about her region of origin and her favorite song, Believer of Imagine Dragons, music that “give the potato when you’re depressed.”

Good listening !
