The production of electric batteries will generate nearly 10,000 direct and indirect jobs in Hauts-de-France within three years. Four future factories will indeed open their doors.
AT Douvrin (Pas-de-Calais), an electric battery factory the size of two ocean liners was built in less than a year. The first machines, behemoths from Asia at one million euros each, are already arriving. Cedric Souillartproduction manager at ACCexplains that the goal is to be ready in six months.
Battery Silicon Valley
In Hauts-de-France, the ecological transition involves the establishment of four future electric battery factories, all job providers. 1,200 jobs will be created in Dunkirk (North), 1,000 jobs at Douvrin1,400 in Douai (North) and soon 1,000 more near Valenciennes (North). The region would become Silicon Valley battery for electric vehicles across Europe. However, this is not enough to compensate for the loss of thousands of jobs in the classic automobile industry. Within three years, battery production will generate nearly 10,000 direct and indirect jobs, and allow the North to remain a stronghold of the automotive industry.
