“My dog ​​was run over”, Daniel Auteuil reveals the enormous sum that Dave borrowed from him after the tragedy

The general public knows him for his roles in cinema, theater and television. And yet it is for his tour as a singer, which he begins on January 18, 2024 and until May 31, 2024, that Daniel Auteuil was the guest of Thomas Isle on Europe 1, this January 11, 2024. The star 73-year-old released an album, “If you’re afraid, don’t be afraid of love” last year. A passion for music that he shares with his best friend, Dave, whom he has known since the 70s.

“Don’t you have a million to lend me?”

They met at the Saint-Martin theater, the journalist recalled on air, before turning to Daniel Auteuil to tell him: “you are still very close today I believe”. Opposite, the actor assured: “I am faithful in friendship, of course“. He then smiled when his host asked him: “And is it true that he borrowed money from you? This is how your friendship began.”

Daniel Auteuil couldn’t resist telling the whole story: “Yes yes that’s how our friendship started. It was the first time I managed to save money. I never succeeded after that, but it doesn’t matter. But, no no, he called me, he said listen, I have to tell you, my little dog has just been run over. I said ‘ohhh’. ‘Don’t you have a million to lend me?’, he slipped it in like that!”

A loan which did not get the better of their friendship, since when Daniel Auteuil took the Corsican artist Aude Ambroggi as his wife, in 2006, three years after their meeting, it was Dave (and their friends Maxime Le Forestier, Christian Clavier and Élie Semoun) whom he asked to be his witness.

“I haven’t put any money aside for retirement”

As for the singer of “Near Swann’s” And “Vanina”in 2023, he assured the magazine Nous Deux, about money: “To tell you the truth, most entertainers didn’t have pay slips until the 1980s. I didn’t put any money aside for retirement.
So I have to continue working.” And otherwise, in the event of a problem, fortunately, we can always count on friends.
