A ceremony was first held at sunrise in the First Nations Garden at the Botanical Garden. At 11:30 a.m., near the Quai de l’Horloge in Old Montreal, the drums of the group Buffalo Hat Singers and the songs of Innu artist Kanen resounded, while Grand Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer , from the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake, and Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante came to give speeches.

In the afternoon at Square Cabot downtown, organized by Pop Montreal, a concert features several Aboriginal artists who will parade on stage from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Elisapie, Cris Derkesen, Drezus, Mike Paul, Scott Sinquah, and again the Buffalo Hat Singers.
