In Quebec, where have we been since this motion, adopted unanimously in 2020, aimed at offering menstrual products in public establishments in the province? François Legault says he asked Santa for a compass. Will the Prime Minister use it to guide himself when it comes to menstruation? As for the municipal sector, certain cities seem to be on the right track in terms of menstrual poverty. In Montreal, vending machines installed in several public places already provide menstrual products free of charge.
In recent years, we’ve been talking more about menstruation here and almost everywhere on the planet. This made it possible to slowly abolish the taboos linked to this natural subject. Has it not now come the time to open up to another form of precariousness, that arising from incontinence? Due to aging populations, will these items not be in greater demand? And, like menstrual products, aren’t they essential? In 2024, will the high cost of incontinence products finally attract the attention of various levels of government?
Hey, why don’t you say a word to Mother Christmas? Who knows, maybe the lady of a certain age will be sensitive to this question? Aren’t more women than men suffering from urinary incontinence? Not to mention that, like many of them, Mother Christmas’s wallet is probably less well stocked than that of the famous bearded man dressed in red and other members of the male gender.
