A man was stabbed during an armed robbery gone wrong in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, in Montreal, during the night from Friday to Saturday.
The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was called to intervene following an armed attack that occurred on Sherbrooke Street, at the Langelier metro exit, around 1:10 a.m. Saturday.
The victim, a 20-year-old man, was allegedly stabbed several times while his cell phone was stolen, reported SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier.
The young man was transported to a hospital to treat the numerous injuries to his hands and arms inflicted by his attackers. However, his life is not in danger, according to the SPVM spokesperson.
Two suspects, both aged 19, were arrested. SPVM investigators will be on site Saturday to better understand the circumstances surrounding this armed attack.
