The Franco-Ukrainian security agreement was largely adopted in the National Assembly on Tuesday March 12 in a symbolic vote. Earlier in the afternoon, the vote was preceded by a very long debate in the hemicycle on this cooperation agreement between France and Ukraine. Abstention was the line defended by the National Rally (RN), which says it supports Ukraine, while denouncing the risks of this agreement. The 88 RN deputies therefore abstained.
The text examined Wednesday in the Senate
The vote against was that of rebellious and communist deputies, convinced that this agreement is only a preamble. The vote ofth tuesdayi does not bind the government, and is only symbolic. But on leaving the hemicycle, the supporters of the text are delighted with this adoption. The text, which commits France over ten years, will be examinedmeWednesday in the Senate.
