Manaudou crowned French champion in the 50 meters after a new supersonic race

After establishing the best world performance of the year in the 50-meter freestyle on Thursday June 15 during the series, in 21″56, Florent Manaudou won the title of French champion of the event in the evening, in Rennes. The resident of the Cercle des nageurs de Marseille did less well in the final (21″62), but still achieved the second best performance in the world behind his time in the morning. He is ahead of Maxime Grousset by sixteen hundredths. Thanks to these times, the two men are qualified in this event for the world championships of Fukuoka, Japan in July.

Florent Manaudou had not swum so fast since the Tokyo Games in 2021. “If someone had told me that I would be swimming in these times today, I would have signed up right away. I hadn’t been French champion since 2020, so even if it may seem anecdotal, I’m happy“, he reacted after his race.
