Man stabbed in Ville-Marie | 20-year-old man charged with attempted murder

Donaldtelo Vilme, who stabbed a man last week in Ville-Marie, is charged with attempted murder and criminal harassment.

Donaldtelo Vilme, 20, was arrested Thursday by the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), after stabbing a man in the Ville-Marie borough in Montreal on October 6. With the “close” collaboration of the Forensic Identification Section and the canine squad, investigators from the Criminal Investigations Section made the arrest, said the SPVM in a press release.

The man is now charged with attempted murder and criminal harassment of Dominic Létourneau and Jessica Vottero.

Recall of facts

On October 6, around 7 p.m., the authorities received a call concerning a person injured by a stab wound at the corner of Beaudry and Sainte-Catherine Est streets, in Ville-Marie. Dominic Létourneau, 24, was walking with his friend, Jessica Vottero, when Donaldtelo Vilme and two of his companions stopped them. According to the police, the conflict escalated and the 24-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen in the street. He was immediately transferred to a hospital center where he survived his injuries.
