“Maldoror the children of legend” by Philippe Lechermeier

We start today with a wonder offered by Flammarion jeunesse editions. It’s “Maldoror”, a saga by Philippe Lechermeier. Three volumes are expected in total, the first “Children of the legend” has just been released.

The story takes place in a troubled Europeand the revolution rumbles a little before 1914. 5 young people will meet around a strange threat, they will be pursued by a secret police and tracked down. We will go from Vienna to Odessa, from kyiv to the plains of Siberia. And yes this book resonates well and truly with the news. We will also be lulled throughout the novel by Slavic music. Those 5 friends are going on an adventure beyond them and get to know a vanished kingdom called: Maldoror.

It’s very well written, it’s instructive and you never get bored. The chapters follow one another at breakneck speed during our reading because they are brief and are so gripping that we want to get into the next one quickly. What a pleasure to see that Philippe Lechermeier suitable for young people as well as adults. It also leaves room for reverie because the fantastic invites itself from this first volume. Patience if you hang on, volume 2 will be released in the fall.

I also recommend another youth saga. Also in three volumes, “The Startpoint Project” by Marie Lorna Vasconsin will, there too, see mix the real and the imaginary but this time the action takes place in our world today.

It all starts with a normal return to high school but while everyone is about to spend an ordinary day we learn that a young girl has disappeared. Her best friend goes to another world to find her. A story that will take you very far, the adventure is also there. Your teenagers will thank you, it was released by La belle anger editions.
