With Lucas Hernandez and Tanguy Nianzou, that makes two additional Bayern Munich players who have tested positive for Covid-19, the German club announced on Monday January 3, specifying that they are waiting for the results for three other players. The two French, “who are doing well”, were placed in quarantine on their return from vacation, explained the Rekordmeister.

The German champion is currently in a massacre after four players – Manuel Neuer, Kingsley Coman, Corentin Tolisso and Omar Richards – tested positive last weekend and also placed in solitary confinement.

The club is still awaiting the diagnosis of the tests carried out on Leroy Sané, Dayot Upamecano and the young Josip Stanisic. In contrast, midfielder Joshua Kimmich was able to resume training after a 47-day break due to a Covid-19 infection. Long unvaccinated, his case had made the headlines and several personalities, including the German Minister of the Interior, had urged him to lead by example. Kimmich had finally announced his intention to be vaccinated.
