LPHF | The Montreal team will face Boston in the semi-final

(Toronto) The Montreal team from the Professional Women’s Hockey League will face the Boston team in the semi-final.


This outcome follows the decision of the Toronto team, first in the final standings, to choose to face Minnesota in the initial round.

The general manager of the Toronto team, Gina Kingsbury, announced the decision during a video conference on Monday evening.

The first two games of the three-of-five series between Montreal and Boston will take place Thursday and Saturday, each time at 7 p.m., at Place Bell. Game 3 follows at the Tsongas Center in Lowell on Tuesday, May 14.

If fourth and fifth games are necessary, they will take place on Thursday, May 16, in Lowell, and Sunday, May 19, at Place Bell, respectively.

The final will also be best of five games.

Montreal (10-3-6-5) had 41 points and finished in second place, six points ahead of Boston (8-4-9-3) which placed third.

The two clubs faced each other on four occasions during the regular season, and Kori Cheverie’s squad won two matches, including one in overtime.

The two teams concluded their respective regular seasons on Saturday in Lowell and the Boston team signed a 4-3 victory thanks to a goal scored late in the third period.

This victory acquired in regulation time allowed Boston to qualify for the playoffs and finish in third position.
