“Listen, we’re not going to quibble about this”, in “C à vous”, Gabriel Attal takes the issue of bedbugs at school!

For several days, bedbugs are on everyone’s lips, and we hear about them on every TV set! So much so that Cyril Hanouna and Guillaume Genton even decided to co-produce a documentary dedicated to these little pests, and which will be available on C8 as a bonus on October 24, 2023 and called “The Great Invasion”. Guest of C to you this Friday October 6, 2023 a few moments after attending the funeral of journalist Jean-Pierre Elkabbach, the Minister of National Education Gabriel Attalcame to discuss the new measures taken against school bullyingbut also those that he intends to carry out on the reform of colleges and in particular the possible elimination of classes for the benefit of groups of levels.

Questioned by Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine on the bedbugs which worry public authorities and which annoy private groups like the RATP and the SNCF, the politician showed himself to be somewhat annoyed by the general concern that the French are experiencing in subject of these pests which are not vectors of any diseaseand which only cause some itching: I understand the concerns both teachers, students and families. When we see what bedbugs are, we actually don’t want to have them in our home, and we don’t want when we’re parents for the children to bring them home from school.” began Gabriel Attal.

“Detect, isolate and treat”

And to continue: “I decided at the beginning of the week to activate a national monitoring unit on the situation of bedbugs in schools. It is true that cases are accumulating, we must put in place an immediate response”. Today, 17 schools are identified as being infested with bedbugs, and seven of them are even closed. But what about the costs of disinfection? On this subject, Gabriel Attal was uncompromising with his services, and insisted on showing solidarity with the establishments concerned: “I told my services: we’re not going to quibble about that. At some point, if we can’t find who pays, it’s the ministry that will foot the bill, because we can’t accept signing off on situations like this spreading.”.
