American rock group Linkin Park unveiled its new singer, Emily Armstrong, during a concert on Thursday, September 5, and announced the upcoming release of an album, the first since the death of its leader Chester Bennington.
The Californian band gave a concert of more than an hour broadcast live in streaming and visible on its website and social networks. The group also released a first single, The emptiness machinetaken from his next opus, From Zeroexpected on November 15.
In this song, the alternation between angry guitars and calms still reflects the band’s signature style, which oscillates between rock and metal, now enhanced by the furious voice of Emily Armstrong, known as the singer of the hard rock band Dead Sara. She performed the band’s greatest hits on stage, including Waiting for the end And Bleedin Out.
Active since the late 1990s before exploding in 2003 with the album Meteora and the tubes Number Or Breaking the habitLinkin Park had not recorded a studio album in seven years. In July 2017, its lead singer and leader, Chester Bennington was found hanged in his California residence. He was 41 years old and suffered from multiple addictions.
Fans of the band have been hoping for this reformation for weeks, if not years. An international tour is already planned with six dates from September 16 to November 11, 2024. The band also welcomes a new musician: Colin Brittain on drums.
Another major announcement made by Linkin Park: the upcoming arrival of a new album entitled From Zerothus signifying the desire for a new beginning. The group has also revealed the first extract from this new opus. A song called The Emptiness Machine which was therefore unveiled on stage and whose clip was put online simultaneously.
