The film “Les Folies fermières” tells the true story of a farmer from the Tarn, who created a cabaret on his farm. The preview took place this weekend, on his land.

Originally, Farm Folies is not a film, but the true story of a farmer from the Tarn, who set up a cabaret on his farm to avoid bankruptcy. Director Jean-Pierre Améris was seduced by this story. “There was really material to make a film with a hero, David, this young peasant who has a goal: to save his farm. And to achieve this goal, he has ideas: bring in artists, so a world that is completely foreign to him“, explains the director.

The farmer who inspired this film, David Caumette, was amazed by the film. “When you see a film that recounts your life 70%, with (…) everything he managed to understand without me telling him, the relationship between artists and farmers, the relationship between me and my parents, my grandfather, all the intergenerational conflicts that there were and which are traced in the film… I find it very realistic“, reports the peasant. The film is released on the big screen on May 11. The real cabaret is open all year round in Garrigues (Tarn).
