The CAQ leader took advantage of a lunch with elected officials and entrepreneurs from Chibougamau on Saturday morning to take stock of his campaign.

While “since the start of the campaign, all sorts of things have been said” about his performance, he considers that he conducted “the best campaign to respond to the concerns of Quebecers”.

He takes the title of the leader who has “talked the most about education” and has “the best program” to help Quebecers get through the inflation crisis.

“And despite what some people say, it is not because we think there is a need for a third link between Quebec and Lévis that we are against the environment. There are some who make shortcuts (saying that) the proof that the CAQ does not care about the environment is that they make a third link. Then he said he was unfairly treated by observers. “The other subject that some people don’t like is language and our values. Some say: Legault did this, he said this, he said that. Personally, I think that the majority of Quebecers want us to protect our language and our values. In a press conference, François Legault did not want to name the “analysts” in question. “Those whose hat makes them wear it,” he replied. He did not want to repeat that some accuse him of racism, contenting himself with saying that some make “amalgams with the fact that (he wants) to defend Quebec values ​​and the French language”. “There are some who don’t like it,” said the CAQ leader, who said a few days ago that it would be “a bit suicidal” for the Quebec nation to welcome more immigrants.
