It’s official: the series “Plus belle la vie” will end next winter after more than 18 years of broadcasting and intrigue. Sad news announced on May 5, to the great despair of some fans who have not missed an episode for almost two decades. A decision that saddens the fans of the program but also the inhabitants of Marseille, the city where filming took place since August 2004, the launch date of the series.
“Plus belle la vie employs 40% of the audiovisual sector in Marseille. These are 600 direct jobs for the year, 1200 including the canteen, accommodation, travel… We cannot simply say ‘It’s over, we stop everything’“said Thierry Lavaille, Force Ouvrière union representative to Le Parisien.
If the series will end in November 2022, it is rumored that several actors in the series should sign a final appearance in the last episodes. “Obviously we would like to have the comedians who were there originally“said Anne Holmes, the program director of France Télévisions, in the columns of Télé Loisirs.
Laëtitia Milot snubbed by France Télévisions?
It remains to be seen whether Laëtitia Milot, one of the biggest revelations of the series, will also sign her big comeback in the France 3 program. In an interview with Télé Magazine, the pretty brunette explained that she did not unfortunately not been approached by the production for a possible return.
“France Télévisions has its reasons which I do not have to comment on. For me, of course, it’s a wonderful page that turns. I have only good memories of Plus belle la vie, of its family atmosphere. I also regularly see certain actors“said the actress who had already been making lighthouse calls to production for years to return to the series that she had decided to leave to devote herself to other projects.
Although disappointed, the actress decided to remain positive: “Anyway, Plus belle la vie will forever remain the series that made me known to the public.“.
