The emergency doctor Mathias Wargon estimates Wednesday June 1 on France Inter that the doctor François Braun to whom Emmanuel Macron entrusted a “flash mission” for the hospital “a very extra-hospital vision”. The head of the adult emergency department and the Smur of the Delafontaine hospital in Saint-Denis is not “not sure he will have the keys to do it and anyway a month will not change anything”.

This mission entrusted to the president of Samu-Urgences de France must indeed last a month to allow “from this summer” to consolidate emergency hospital services, some of which are threatened with closure for lack of resources. Mathias Wargon wonders about the interest of this “flash mission”whereas, he says, “we already have our feet in it: we must not believe that we are doing nothing“and evokes a meeting he had this Tuesday at the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Île-de-France to find out how the emergencies in the Ile-de-France will be managed this summer.

For Mathias Wargon, the fate of emergency services for this summer is already sealed. “It’s already too late, when you’re in the wall it’s too late”loose the emergency doctor. “So we’re going to have to limit the damage for this summer and then maybe do some substantive work that has never been done.” According to him “the question, at some point, is: what are we doing to fundamentally reform the health system and not be content with a report that will repeat the same thing as what we have said the last time?”
