Kanye West signs his big comeback with “Vultures 2” in collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign, an album undermined by leaks and littered with nuggets

The album by the rap duo was due to be released on March 8 and has suffered numerous leaks that have impacted the project, despite the pleasant musical surprises.

After months of waiting, dates postponed, not kept, but above all leaks, Vultures 2Ty Dolla Sign and Kanye West’s joint album, renamed Ye, was finally released on Saturday. 3 August, to the great delight of fans. Nearly 50 years long minutes and composed of 16 pieces, this second opus initially planned for the 8th last March follows the sharing, the day before the album’s release, of the song Slide on Kanye West’s site, where we find in particular the talented Fred again and the soft voice of singer James Blake, massively present on this three-volume project.

The first track on the album, Slide is one of those songs that was unveiled many months ago. It is played for the first time by Ty Dolla Sign in Geneva on the 30th september 2023, before the production is updated and presented by DJ and musician prodigy Fred again, on the 4th november 2023, during a DJ set in Los Angeles. The work on Vultures 2 has been going on silently for many months. Ye deactivated his Instagram account and Ty Dolla Sign has kept a low profile on social media, but that hasn’t stopped the leaks.

All the tracks from the three opuses of Vultures have been experiencing massive, repeated leaks for months, so much so that fans are no longer at all confused. Some titles, such as Everybody which samples the Backstreet Boys track, were already scheduled to be released on the album Vultures 1.

The rap duo, having had authorization problems on the sample, still has not released it. No trace either of the title requested by their admirers, New Body, created in collaboration with Nicki Minaj in 2018 and which has still not seen the light of day on Vultures 2.

Enough to disappoint many fans who will have to comfort themselves with tracks that they have, for the most part, already heard because of the leaks on the Internet. Many of them hope that Ty Dolla Sign and Kanye West will manage to broadcast the missing tracks on Vultures 3the last part of their project, with no release date yet.

On the song Time Movin SlowKanye West and Ty Dolla Sign reflect on their past relationships over a catchy, saturated beat. Ye once again invites the powerful backing vocals of Inter Milan’s Ultras, also known as The Hooligans, popular worldwide, after collaborations with the rapper on Vultures 1.

We find a Kanye West sure of himself and his decisions. The rapper now decides to go it alone, even if it means abandoning his own : “I can’t believe in you n****s, I see right through you n****s. I crossed the line, I took my story back and rewrote the ending, I did it”he raps.

On this second volume, the Ty Dolla Sign/Kanye West duo does not really innovate and relies heavily on the achievements of Vultures 1. The title Frieda kind of recreation of the song Carnivalperfectly embodies this disappointment. The Hooligans’ choirs quickly become tiresome and no longer have the same brilliance as when they were first heard on Vultures 1.

Between repeated collaborations with Playboi Carti or Kanye West’s children rapping in Japanese on Bombwe are far from the innovation that Ty Dolla Sign promised us on the three parts of Vultures when he was promoting the project.

Despite the weariness, the album has many gems that continue to make Kanye West one of the GOATs. [Greatest Of All Time “Meilleur de tous les temps”] in the rap industry.

We think of Promotion in collaboration with Future which has been widely circulated on social networks, Husband And Lifestyle, two question/answer tracks about marriage with Lil Wayne, or Young Thug’s incredible rap in River.

On the song, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign plead for their sins to be absolved in a river of purity, attacking the false ideologies of the rap scene. Young Thug is incarcerated for racketeering in 2022, which allowed Ye to use a melodic voice for Thug’s release, as well as Larry Hoover, founder of the Chicago-based street gang Gangster Disciples.

Another nice surprise, the title 530, perhaps the best of the album, where Kanye West indulges in a rap solo with 90’s sounds. Already revealed in 2022, the track was to appear on the album Donda 2 under the name of The Missing CarsThen Dear Summer. Kanye looks back on his difficult former marriage to Kim Kardashian, journeying through his emotions from that time in 2022.

The chorus centers around Ye waking up to find Kim’s car missing, having cut off all communication with him. As he realizes their relationship is slowly fading, he pours his heartbreak into a bottle of Patrón tequila. The song ends with regret as Ye wonders : “Did I do something stupid?.

Kanye West also recycled another equally successful title. Sky City comes from the sessions 2018-2019 from the unreleased album Yandhi acclaimed and demanded by fans, as it was never released. Ty Dolla Sign has stated on several occasions that he loves Sky Cityso it’s possible that the rapper asked Ye to add the song to the album.

This title is part of the massive leak of 4 last June, Kanye released uncharted songs on his official YouTube channel.
