ISF climate, energy savings and lobbies … The “8h30 franceinfo” presidential special by Yannick Jadot

The environmental candidate for the presidential election notably spoke about the climate ISF, and its measures to save energy and limit the influence of lobbies on politics. He answered questions from Marc Fauvelle and Salhia Brakhlia.

The climate ISF “would tax everything that is not good for the planet”

In order to finance the ecological transition, Yannick Jadot, like Anne Hidalgo, proposes to establish a climate ISF: “It’s a tax that would affect all assets over two million euros, and would tax everything that is not good for the planet.” It will bring in 15 million euros, according to the environmentalist candidate. In the matter, he distributed the good and the bad points. “A priori, we will not tax” Renault who “is moving towards decarbonizing its car fleet by 2030, which is my goal for our country”, he said. On the other hand, he strongly criticized the inaction of the Total group for the climate.

Free public transport for six months

If elected, Yannick Jadot promises to “set up free public transport for six months”, in order to cope with the rise in the price of gasoline, and this for “local transport”. That is to say, “the TER, the buses (…) not the TGV” and it will be “compensated by the State”, assures Yannick Jadot, for whom it is a “emergency measure (…) to use public transport when we can use it”.

“Never has a five-year term been so plagued by lobbies”

Asked about his desire to create a law of separation between lobbies and the state, he denounced: “Never has a five-year term been so plagued by lobbies. Anyone involved in the drafting of a law must give absolute transparency on their appointments”, indicates Yannick Jadot. “It means the end of pantouflages and retro-pantouflages”.
