Altares notes that this rate has never been observed for 25 years. Restaurants, convenience stores and hair salons in particular are the sectors most affected by business failures, the fault of teleworking which has greatly upset customer habits. Altares counts 150% more procedures this summer in catering compared to the same period as last year. Retail businesses, whether food or not, were also strongly affected: twice as many failures in mini-markets and 94% in hairdressing salons and beauty salons.

The smaller the company, the more fragile it is, further notes the firm Altares. Three quarters of the procedures affect VSEs with less than three employees and companies less than three years old, born during the health crisis.
