(Washington) Consumer prices continued their escalation in October in the United States, driven by energy prices, and recorded at + 5% over one year their largest increase since 1990, according to the PCE index of Commerce Department released Wednesday.
Inflation also accelerated over one month, to 0.6%, as expected. Moreover, both income and expenditure of households increased more than expected compared to September, by 0.5% and 1.3% respectively.
