Emmanuel Maurel, MEP (GUE/NGL group, France insoumise delegation), is the political guest on 19/20 info, Sunday January 14.
While Gabriel Attal, the new Prime Minister, has just made his fifth trip in five days, Emmanuel Maurel, MEP (GUE/NGL group, France insoumise delegation), believes that Emmanuel Macron “makes a great addition to the reshuffle”. “I notice that in this atmosphere at the end of his reign, in the absence of having power over things, Macron, what he likes is to have power over people. Not going to change anything”. He also castigates the Prime Minister: “You shouldn’t wait to be Prime Minister to get in touch with the French”.
As for the announcement of 32 billion euros for the public hospital, Emmanuel Maurel describes it as “total scam”. “It has been planned for five years, it is a multi-year plan to finance the public hospital, there is nothing new. (…) Attal dresses up with pretty phrases a political reality which is not pretty at all”he adds. “This reshuffle is much ado about nothing, summarizes the deputy. (…) I think that the French are not fooled by what is happening, and what is happening is that it ‘is the same policy with the same’.
Amélie Oudéa-Castéra “lies” according to Emmanuel Maurel
After Amélie Oudéa-Castéra’s exit on public schools, Emmanuel Maurel invited the Minister of Education to resign. “First of all, I think she lied. (…) She lives in the heart of Paris, in the 6th, and she explains to us (…) that public schools are not doing well in this ultra-privileged neighborhood. This is not true”introduced the deputy. “She is there to address teachers (…), parents of students (…) and what is she doing? She is denigrating. As a parent of children who are in the audience and as the son of teachers, I felt insulted”adds Emmanuel Maurel.
Furthermore, he believes that Amélie Oudéa-Castéra will not be able to assume her “super-ministry”which combines Sports, Olympic Games and Education. “National Education is a full-time job, it’s huge”he argues.
