In Strasbourg, “Z” tagged in red paint at the entrance to the Russian Orthodox Church

Letters Z have been tagged with red paint on the billboards at the entrance to the Russian Orthodox Church in Strasbourg on Tuesday. The letter Z has often been inscribed on Russian army tanks since the start of the invasion of Ukraine.

The Strasbourg parish of All Saints filed a complaint. Its managers say they deplore these tags. They recall that the church has taken a position for a rapid return to peace in Ukraine.

“We also mourn what is happening and wish for a speedy return of peace to Ukrainian land“wrote the parish in a Russian-language statement posted on Facebook.

“We have already filed a complaint with the police, and we hope that the French authorities can ensure the safety of our community. We urge all our parishioners and supporters to pray hard and not give in in response to the wickedness” is it written.
