In Italy, the police cross the country in Lamborghinis to deliver two kidneys

Italian police have crossed part of the country in a Lamborghini to deliver two kidneys to patients awaiting a transplant, the National Police announced on Tuesday.

“Traveling down the highway to deliver the greatest Christmas present: life. Thanks to the special Santa Claus of the National Police, two people received a donation of kidneys”, writes the Police on its Facebook page.

Photos show a police officer and a caregiver installing in the trunk of the racing car, located at the front, a blue medical cooler containing the two organs.

Leaving Padua (north-east) on Tuesday, they delivered a kidney to the Modena hospital before heading to Rome to deliver the second.

The Italian road police are equipped with two Lamborghini Huracàn, cars developing more than 600 horsepower for a top speed of 325 km/h.

They are used to intercept offending vehicles but are also assigned to other urgent interventions such as the transport of organs.
