The Head of State is visiting Alsace on Wednesday, two days after his speech on pension reform. Emmanuel Macron is going to visit a successful local SME and hopes to get out of the political crisis by reconnecting with the French.
After his speech on television Monday April 17 and weeks between foreigners and the Élysée, Emmanuel Macron finds the ground to reconnect with the French. The Head of State is expected at the beginning of the afternoon, Wednesday April 19, in a company in the Bas-Rhin in Muttersholtz, a town of 2,000 inhabitants. While the president presented three priorities on television, including work, he chose a model company for this return to the field.

It’s a thriving family factory in the heart of an Alsatian village, almost like a postcard. As when he went to the Rungis market at the end of February, Emmanuel Macron chooses to talk about work with a positive example and what works. This SME of 200 employees, “Mathis Construction”, ticks all the boxes of what the Head of State wants to put forward. “One of the finest SMEs in Alsace” judges an elected representative from the region, a company that recruits, whose social climate is saluted. An innovative company too, “made in France”, at the heart of the wood industry, symbolic of the ecological transition, it is the company that built the aquatic center for the Paris Olympics.
In short, it is a trip far from the processions, in a France “who is fine”all this on earth, recognizes a chosen one, “in favor of the president” in order to make a seemingly smooth return to the field.
Work on your image to get out of the crisis
The president will have his beautiful image with working France, even if he is aware of it, it will take a little more to show that he is reconnecting with the French. The Élysée perfectly knows how to padlock trips at the risk of sometimes artificial images, but, this time, Emmanuel Macron “will get in trouble, the idea is not that he is in a bubble”, provides support during the preparations. “He is looking for contradiction, he knows that the subject of pensions is still raw” believes to know the same source.
