“I can no longer…”, Slimane at Eurovision 2024, the last minute announcement that shakes

The 2024 Eurovision Song Contest will be held from May 7 to 11 in Malmö, Sweden. More than a simple singing competition, this continental event is a real institution which is prepared for months, from one year to the next. Faced with France’s new failure last year, it was the famous singer Slimane who was chosen to represent the country during the next competition.

The one who started his career in 2016 after winning the show The Voice seems well on his way to the top of the ranking, having just achieved a great feat: his album Versus, a duet with Vitaa, has just exceeded one million sales. At the same time, the number of views of his recent clip called “My love” explodes every day on YouTube. It is precisely with this song that Slimane will try to make France win the competition.“I wrote this song as a love letter that I send to all the hearts that will listen to it. Love. Everywhere. Always. More than ever. Together. Heading to Eurovision!” Slimane said at the time of the title’s release before adding: “For my parents. For my daughter. For France. For you…”.

Eurovision 2024: Slimane makes a statement on X And while the singer is slowly preparing for the event, an announcement has just been made on social networks. “French megastar Slimane will be in London for Eurovision Party 2024 on April 7. Get ready to be enchanted as he unveils his song “Mon Amour” can we read on X (formerly Twitter). To which Slimane responded: “I can’t wait any longer!”.

As a reminder, France has not won the Eurovision song contest since 1977 when the singer Marie Myriam seduced all of Europe with her song “L’Oiseau et l’Enfant”. The artist also encouraged Slimane by making a statement on Europe 1 radio. “I think he will represent France well and I can’t wait to listen to his song”.
