This axis is closed between Paris and Vaucresson, at least until Tuesday April 23. The cause was a crack that appeared after a movement of the ground. But what is it due to?
Difficult to miss. A crack cracks the road across the entire width of the A13 motorway, which links Paris to Normandy. Very quickly, work was undertaken. The bitumen was dug to assess its depth, 80 centimeters in places, then block the roadway. But the highway remains closed between Saint-Cloud and Vaucresson (Hauts-de-Seine), Saturday April 20.
100,000 vehicles per day on this section
Every day, 100,000 vehicles use this section. The causes of the crack have not yet been identified. A ground movement linked to the heavy rains of recent weeks seems to be the favored hypothesis. The highway is one of the oldest in France. Its viaduct was built in concrete 50 years ago, but wear and tear on the structure would not be the cause, according to the Île-de-France roads department (DIRIF). “We have never had any particular problem linked to the structure of the roadway itself.assures Jacques Salhi, director of DIRIF.
