Presented on Friday May 24 at the Paris court to an investigating judge, radio host Sébastien Cauet was investigated for rape and sexual assault on four women, three of whom were minors at the time of the alleged acts, the prosecution told AFP. The former presenter, who disputes the accusations, was placed under judicial supervision, “with in particular the obligation to pay a deposit of 100,000 euros” and of “follow care”, said the public prosecutor. Asked by AFP, his lawyers did not wish to react.
Summoned by investigators on Wednesday, he was placed in police custody for two days at the Minor Protection Brigade. After his questioning by investigators, the public prosecutor requested his indictment with the aggravating circumstance of minority for three of the four victims identified, over a period from 1997 to 2014.
