On the evening of Thursday, May 23, a man died during football training, struck by lightning in Courrières (Pas-de-Calais). Two other players were injured and hospitalized.

Since yesterday, I’ve been receiving messages from all his colleagues”confided the victim’s father, Friday morning. “He was someone who had a big heart, always had the right words for the little ones”says Jordan’s brother.
Lightning struck during football training, while around thirty players from the football club headed to the locker room to escape the downpour. At least three of them were struck by lightning. “A 30-year-old person died. Another person, who had significant chest pain, was quickly transported to be treated at the Lens hospital center”, explains Cédric Sauvage, fire captain and head of the Lens rescue center. The third victim, burned on the leg, was taken to hospital. A psychological unit has been set up.
