On the eve of the deadline of 1er June, thousands of medical appointments are compromised by the lack of agreement between the Minister of Health Christian Dubé and the Federation of General Practitioners of Quebec (FMOQ).
Friday noon, the minister refused to comment. Negotiations “continue,” Mr. Dubé simply indicated. The sound of the story is the same on the FMOQ side: “no comment”.
Unless there is an agreement, the agreement allowing the addition of medical appointments via the First Line Access Counter (GAP) will end on Saturday the 1st.er June. In Outaouais, for example, no beach would be available at GAP for people who do not have a family doctor next week.
Concluded in 2022, the agreement enabled the registration of 910,000 patients with family medicine groups (GMF). Physicians who participated received a bonus of $120 per patient.
However, Minister Christian Dubé criticized doctors for having registered certain patients without allowing them to have an appointment and therefore wants to renegotiate the premium.
Everyone has their own data
Last Saturday, the minister said he had new data proving his claims. However, he did not want to make them public to date. This data, he said, was transmitted to the conciliator who was appointed to advance the negotiation.
Friday, it was the FMOQ’s turn to discuss new data. “The FMOQ presented data which demonstrates the effectiveness of the collective registration program and the financial advantages for the government of Quebec in renewing this program,” she indicated in an email to Duty.
