He threatens his ex-wife with death by text message, a Mayenne man sentenced by the Laval court

A 52-year-old man was sentenced to 3 months suspended prison sentence on Tuesday, November 2 by the Laval court. This Mayennais, inhabitant of Saint-Georges-le-Fléchard (west of Laval), appeared for threats against his ex-companion. Last April, he sent him death threats in particular by SMS.

“I kill my wife and I kill myself”

“It will end in a massacre” : this is what the defendant sent for the first time to his ex-wife by text message last April. At the time, his 18-year-old daughter cut the ties. It’s the last straw for this man already very alone who spends his days on his computer. With his back arched, his arms crossed, he mumbles at the bar “it was a way of speaking, I was angry”. “No it’s not going, it’s serious” retorts the prosecutor.

He reiterates his threats at work (he is a recycling center for the agglomeration of Laval, now on sick leave) and in front of the gendarmes when they knock on his door a month later. “I kill my wife and I kill myself” then shouts the fifty-something. He is embarked and placed in police custody “You scared people very much, do you understand that?” asks the president of the tribunal “This is why you were arrested by the gendarmes”. The defendant takes time to respond, he hears very badly and finally nods his head then apologizes: “I didn’t know it would go that far” he explains. The defendant assures today that he no longer sends text messages to his ex-spouse.
