In January 2022, Florent Pagny
had to put his sixty birthday tour plans aside. And for good reason, the artist learned that he was suffering from lung cancer. Some months later, Pascal Obispo’s friend
revealed to be in remission. However, the father of the family
finally suffered a relapse in March 2023. The latter had stopped his immunotherapy treatment to rest in Patagonia and assured that he had his share of responsibility.
Despite the disease and its treatment which could last between five and ten years, Florent Pagny
remain optimistic. “We hang on, we experience control after control. That doesn’t stop me from sleeping. I rather stay in the positive and in the projects to come”, he confided to the microphone of RTL last September. But this positive attitude has not always been up to date.

The editor-in-chief of Entrevue began by making sad revelations: “When he learned of his illness, he spoke about it with his wife on the phone, already telling her that he wanted to prepare for his funeral. Afterwards he went into warrior mode. It’s always complicated to talk about a man’s life because there is medical confidentiality.”
Suffering from small cell cancer, the journalist carried out his investigation and assured that the chances of survival were estimated at less than 10%. “Gamglyons came back, he had to get treatment again. Every time he thinks he’s doing well, unfortunately the illness catches up with him. He has an illness with a poor prognosis“, he said sorry.
However, this does not mean that Florent Pagny intends to say goodbye to his career. “If he stopped, that would mean he stopped the fight. You can’t stop. There are people who never stop. Even more so when you’re sick. The last thing you want is ‘is to stop you because it amounts to saying: ‘if I stop it’s a little death before death’. No, he doesn’t want to stop. I think he’s someone who will sing until until his body allows him“, he concluded.
