When, in 2019, Guillaume Gangloff left Dom Brial, he had already prepared the sequel. “I really liked the cooperative adventure, but I had always wanted to make my own wine”he explains. “And then I wanted to be able to organize my time to share life with my son”, he almost apologizes. This is why, in 2009, he started looking for vines.
Today, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, he owns 3.5 hectares between Opoul-Périllos, Baixas, Calce and… Banyuls-sur-Mer. “Winegrower is a tightrope walker’s job. From a piece of carved wood to the bottle on the table, you can’t miss any step”he defines.
Guillaume defines himself as an ambassador of Languedoc-Roussillon wines. This is why, apart from his own vines, he blends, vinifies and negotiates wines from Aude and Hérault (70% of his catalog) in appellations such as: Pic Saint-Loup, Picpoul, La Clape, Minervois, Faugères or Corbières.
These wines are not found in supermarkets. Some restaurateurs and wine merchants in Roussillon offer its references. All are to be discovered on Guillaume Gangloff’s website.
