(Calgary) Rachael Karker of Ontario won silver in the halfpipe event at the Freestyle Skiing World Cup in Calgary on Saturday.
Karker posted a score of 85.50, which wasn’t enough to beat 19-year-old Chinese Eileen Gu (93.50).
Gu and Karker climbed to the top two steps of the podium for a second straight World Cup in Calgary. They had signed the same result on Thursday.
Calgary’s Bowman won the silver medal on the men’s side, just one point ahead of compatriot Simon d’Artois.
American Alex Ferreira triumphed with a score of 94.50, ahead of teammate Birk Irving (93.00).
Saturday’s halfpipe World Cup was the third of four on the schedule this season.
The next major halfpipe event will be the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. Six Canadians have received invitations to take part in the competition, which will take place from January 27-29.
