The MEP of the Renaissance group, Nathalie Loiseau, reacts on the 23h set of franceinfo to the announcement of a European embargo on Russian oil and possible substitutes.
Asked about the possible perverse effects of the European embargo obtained on Russian oil, particularly in terms of inflation, the European deputy of the Renaissance group, Nathalie Loiseau, assures us that it was urgent to “lobby“on Russia, in full offensive on Ukraine. To reach such an agreement despite the reluctance, in particular, of the Hungarians, she explains that”an exception was made” for certain landlocked European countries and considers it to be a “real success“.
The next step in the sanctions against Russia could concern gas. Nathalie Loiseau believes that an embargo also affecting gas would make it possible to circumvent the “blackmail” from Moscow. She concedes, however, that the affair promises to be more difficult because of Germany’s heavy dependence on Russian gas. “But you shouldn’t forbid it at all, you have to prepare for it“, she continues.
